Meet Dr. Sarah

Dr. Sarah Semenza is a licensed naturopathic doctor, ND, focused on helping patients restore metabolic health, resilience, and long-term vitality through individualized, root-cause care. Her clinical interests include metabolic dysfunction, hormone imbalances, chronic inflammatory complexes, micronutrient-mineral imbalance, environmental medicine and complex chronic conditions, with an emphasis on identifying the underlying physiologic patterns that drive dysfunction rather than simply managing symptoms.

Originally from Michigan, Dr. Semenza completed her pre-medical education at Wayne State University obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Exercise & Sports Science before earning her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in June 2025.

Her background in kinesiology and competitive bodybuilding deeply shaped her approach to medicine. Years spent studying human performance and physiology gave her an early appreciation for how profoundly nutrition, movement, recovery, stress, emotional landscape and environment influence health. That perspective now informs a clinical approach that is both investigative and practical—combining thoughtful assessment with individualized strategies designed to help patients understand their bodies and actively participate in their healing process.

Dr. Semenza believes effective medicine begins with genuine curiosity. Taking the time to truly understand each patient, not just as a set of symptoms, but the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.

Her approach is rooted in listening deeply and asking thoughtful questions to uncover what may be interfering with the body’s natural ability to function and heal. She believes that when patients feel seen, heard, and supported, something meaningful shifts—creating space for real, lasting change.

Rather than forcing health or chasing quick fixes, her work centers on restoring the conditions in which the body can do what it is inherently designed to do.

A philosophy she resonates with is captured in a line from one of her favorite sagas, Dune:

“The mystery of life isn't a problem to be solved, but a reality to experience; a process that cannot be understood by stopping it. We must move with the flow of the process, we must join it, we must flow with it.” — Frank Herbert

Outside of clinical practice, she can be found exploring Pacific Northwest trails, spending time fireside with her husband, immersed in fiction, or doing entirely unnecessary things under a barbell, all in continued fascination with what the human body is capable of.
